Detailed description

The Triangle Community Garden is looking for new trustees to join our active, committed and friendly management committee. We're keen to better represent the ethinicity of our community on our board of trustees - we'd welcome applications from people of colour or with experience of disability.

Our purpose is to help people of all ages and abilities lead more fulfilling lives, through gardening and contact with the natural world.

We do this through:

  • Supporting physical and mental health via our social therapeutic horticulture
  • Providing volunteering opportunities outdoors in nature
  • Community events and workshops
  • Forest school and bushcraft for families
  • Cookery classes for men

We’re looking for committed people with a couple of hours a week to spare, preferably (but

not essentially) with experience in governance, HR, running a business or accounting. As a trustee, you may claim for out of pocket expenses such as training and travel.

There are usually six trustee meetings a year, occasionally more. Trustees are encouraged to

take an active role in our community activities and annual events, and to sit on one

of our sub-committees which include: Garden Committee, Community Projects, Premises &

Safety, Finance & Governance and Workshops & Publicity
