Help with our food donation collections. The role will start with assisting our main driver to collect, weigh and sort. Leading to becoming our main driver.Detailed description
We are looking for a volunteer with a clean driving licence to assist in collections. Initially on a Friday morning, assisting with regular food donations from various shops and organisations. The role also involves weighing and sorting the collection and replenishing the shop.
We hope the right candidate would eventually become our main driver.
There would be opportunities for extra collections in the evening at 7.30pm. These are Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings from one town centre supermarket.

Random Cafe runs a community cafe in the Watford, open on Tuesdays, Thursday and Saturday between 10am and 2pm. The cafe serves hot and cold drinks and a selection of sweet and savoury items which have either been saved from supermarkets or grown from our community gardens.
In addition, we have a food waste shop that sells food we cannot use in the café back to the local community on a PAYF basis. This allows us to save as much food as possible from being wasted meaning that since 2017, we have saved over 90 tonnes of food from going to landfill.
We need your help to allow us to continue to support our local community, to continue to reduce the amount that goes to landfill and to keep managing our community gardens so that we can grow as much food for the café as possible.
