Summary

We are seeking animal care assistants to help us with the general feeding, cleaning and care of our wildlife patients at our rehab centre in Rickmansworth.

Detailed description

You will be reporting to the Lead Animal Carer and be involved in the following tasks:

  • Cleaning of animal enclosures
  • Feeding patients and, where necessary, administering medication
  • Maintaining patient record charts
  • Handling our patients for daily weighing and checking
  • Keeping an eye on the health and recovery of our wildlife patients
  • Stocking up on supplies such as food, bedding, medical equipment
  • Animal patient transfers where necessary

You will be working in a team with other animal care assistants, on a shift based rota. There are two 2-hourly shifts a day, 7 days a week, mornings and afternoons. You are welcome to work as many shifts as you wish and we will give you lots of training on how to handle the various wildlife that come through our doors.

It is a rewarding experience, with first hand opportunity to learn about our local wildlife, a little bit about veterinary care, as well as making new friends and learning new skills.

We are a close knit team that believes in saving and protecting Britain's wildlife for now and for future generations.
