Are you passionate about civil rights and anti-racism? Are you skilled in creating engaging social media content? Join us as Social Media Content Creator and help us spread awareness, provide support, and foster a community of understanding and compassion. 


What will you be doing?

As a Social Media Content Creator volunteer, you will be responsible for developing and sharing content that promotes uplifting narratives around combating racism, highlights our programmes and projects, and engages with our online community. Your creativity and communication skills will play a key role in connecting with organisations who need support and spreading our message of hope and resilience.


Responsibilities:

  1. Content Creation: Develop engaging and informative social media posts, including graphics, videos, stories, and written content that align with our mission and resonate with our audience.
  2. Campaign Development: Plan and execute social media campaigns to promote anti-racism, support business growth, fundraising events, and other initiatives. Collaborate with the leadership team to ensure cohesive and effective messaging.
  3. Community Engagement: Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and interactions on our social media platforms. Foster a supportive and positive online community by engaging with followers and providing helpful information and resources.
  4. Trend Analysis: Stay up-to-date with social media trends, platform updates, and best practices. Use insights to optimise content strategy and enhance audience engagement.
  5. Analytics and Reporting: Track and analyse the performance of social media posts and campaigns. Provide regular reports on engagement metrics, growth, and other key indicators to inform future strategies.
  6. Collaboration: Work closely with the communications and marketing teams to align social media content with overall organisational goals and campaigns. Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas to enhance our online presence.


What are we looking for?

We would like to see a skill set of :

  • A strong understanding of social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok and LinkedIn
  • Experience in creating engaging content, including graphics, videos, and written posts.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills, with the ability to convey complex topics in an accessible and empathetic manner.
  • Passion for anti-racism advocacy and a commitment to reducing discomfort and promoting community-seeking behaviours.
  • Basic knowledge of social media analytics tools and the ability to interpret data to improve content performance.
  • Creativity, adaptability, and a proactive approach to developing content and engaging with our audience.
