Summary

Join our community interest company on our mission to bring communities together by breaking down barriers to understanding more about each other and the world

Detailed description

In this ad hoc/occasional (e.g. per project) role you will gain satisfaction from knowing that you’re helping children, young people, and the wider community continue to safely explore their experiences by making a real difference to our sustainability and impact.

Full induction, training and support will be offered to support you with this fantastic opportunity to get involved in the ongoing development of OK To Be CIC. Our vital not-for-profit works closely with schools, children’s social care, the youth sector, voluntary sector and communities to educate the primary beneficiaries, the adults around our children and young people. Helping to raise awareness of, and break down, systemic racism, bringing about equity. In turn the secondary beneficiaries, our children and young people, are guided and supported in understanding the world around them and how to reduce racial harm to themselves and others.

By volunteering as Funding and Grants Volunteer you can help our CIC grow and develop to our next stage by ensuring that we have the funds to sustain and develop the service, and help us to realise our ambition of being a service for our community and beyond.

We’re urgently looking for a volunteer who helps us to successfully fundraise for our community interest company. We need help on a one-off and/or per project basis (or more regular if preferred), with:

  • Researching, registering and applying for appropriate sources of funding
  • Planning Funding Projects and matching these to available funding opportunities that match our aims
  • Ensure that proposed projects are in line with OK To Be CIC’s overall development plans
  • Building and maintaining good working relationships with funders, grant and award makers, and our Directors and volunteers, in readiness for making grant applications
  • Gathering copies of all the key documents needed for making grant applications, for example, governing documents, CIC structure, annual accounts, letters of recommendation etc.
  • Completing and submitting grant monitoring & evaluation forms in a timely manner.
  • Prepare grant use and any update reports ready for submitting to funders in a timely manner
  • Attending workshops, information sessions, seminars etc. to build knowledge and experience of available grants and good practice
  • Creating newsletters to broadcast any funding we receive.

Make this role your own - we're a responsive organisation, we'll be really happy to listen to and implement your great ideas

About OK to Be CIC

We are a community interest company (CIC) that takes pride in bringing communities together through anti-racist education, training and workshops. We are experts at tackling the issue of racism in environments that are impartial and apolitical.

We train and educate across many sectors but are particularly passionate about supporting parents, teachers, youth workers, children's social workers, foster carers and adopters in understanding transracial teaching, caring and parenting.
