Summary
North Herts All About Us Community Conference 2024: The Power of Your StoryAn event for all community or voluntary groups and professionals in North Herts.
Detailed description
The Power of Your Story
Authenticity has never been more important; from the media we consume to the relationships we build. Stories promote transparency, build credibility and trust.
Within the voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) sector stories have never been a more essential element of our work.
Good stories help convey emotion, reinforce a sense of community, stimulate change, emphasise the significance of your groups work, stimulate new volunteers to step forward and encourage past supporters to return. But perhaps more significantly in the present climate, stories demonstrate how donations and fundraising are being spent and why your organisation should be supported.
To demonstrate just how powerful stories can be, you'll hear the unique experiences of organisations from North Herts throughout this year's conference and take part in an engaging storytelling workshop led by storytelling expert, writer, and consultant Neil Baker.
Keynote Speaker - Michael McGrath MBE
The first disabled person to have led expeditions to both poles, and awarded an MBE (June 2023) in the King's birthday honours list for services to people with muscular dystrophy, Michael McGrath MBE has been named one of Britain's most influential disabled people by Power 100 - not once, not twice but four times!
We are honoured to have Michael McGrath as our keynote speaker at this year's North Herts Community Conference, Tuesday 21st May 2024.
