Detailed description

The Hertfordshire Branch is a busy and thriving one, delivering an incredible amount of support and fundraising. From running support groups in both North and South Herts to organising non-stop fundraising events, the dedication of our team is outstanding. We also have a fantastic group of Association Visitors who provide vital support to those affected by MND, along with many other initiatives that make a real difference to the community.

 

We are now looking to recruit a new Hertfordshire Branch Chair and would like to invite anyone interested in the role to apply.


What’s involved? 

 

  • Plan, prepare for and facilitate committee meetings 
  • Ensure appropriate decisions are made in a timely way when required 
  • Support branch volunteers in planning and coordinating branch activities 
  • Ensure branch volunteers are aware of and follow the Association’s policies and procedures 
  • Work in partnership with staff to recruit new volunteers and induct and mentor new volunteers 
  • Act as an ambassador for the Association and as a host at branch events 


This role will suit me if I:  

 

  • Have leadership skills, facilitation skills and experience of running meetings 
  • Have good communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Am able to act in an impartial way 
  • Am able to delegate work

The MND Association focuses on improving access to care, research and campaigning for those people living with or affected by MND in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. We have volunteer lead branches and groups across the country, including in Hertfordshire the South Herts Branch (supporting people in South and West Herts) and the North and East Herts Branch.
