Madad UK (MUK) is a fintech disruptor dedicated to providing financial education, tools, grants and through ZeroPA iterest-free loans to financially disadvantaged and vulnerable individuals. Our mission is to promote financial inclusion and support individuals in achieving financial stability.
#### **Key Initiatives:**
- **Interest-Free Loans:** In partnership with ZeroPA, Madad offers interest-free loans, providing an alternative to high-cost payday lending and helping improve credit ratings.
- **Financial Education:** We offer resources and tools to empower individuals with money management skills.
- **Grants for Essential Expenses:** We provide small grants to assist with emergency needs such as food, utilities, and clothing.
- **Benefits Calculator:** Our online tool helps individuals understand their entitlement to benefits like Universal Credit and Pension Credit.
Our charity retail stores support these initiatives by generating essential funds and engaging with local communities.
### **Role Overview**
As a Volunteer Retail Store Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of our charity shop, ensuring an excellent shopping experience for customers, managing donations effectively, and supporting a team of volunteers. This role is ideal for someone passionate about retail, sustainability, and community engagement.
### **Key Responsibilities**
#### **Store Operations**
- Ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the shop.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, merchandising, and stock management.
- Implement retail policies and procedures in line with charity regulations.
#### **Volunteer & Staff Management**
- Recruit, train, and support volunteers.
- Create a positive and inclusive working environment.
- Develop rotas to ensure adequate staffing coverage.
#### **Stock & Donations**
- Accept, sort, and price donated items appropriately.
- Maximise sales by displaying items attractively.
- Ensure stock rotation and disposal of unsellable items in an ethical manner.
#### **Customer Service & Community Engagement**
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Promote Madad UK’s mission and initiatives.
- Engage with the local community to increase donations and awareness.
#### **Sales & Fundraising**
- Work towards sales targets and fundraising goals.
- Implement promotions and events to boost revenue.
- Handle cash, card payments, and financial records securely.
### **Skills & Experience**
**Essential:**
- Passion for charity retail and community impact.
- Strong leadership and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and people skills.
- Basic IT skills (email, POS systems, stock management).
**Desirable:**
- Experience in retail, management, or charity work.
- Knowledge of retail sales strategies and merchandising.
