We’re looking to expand our team of dedicated volunteers. If you're enthusiastic, self-motivated, and enjoy meeting new people, we’d love for you to help us build relationships with local businesses. As a Collection Can Coordinator, you’ll ask businesses to display our collection cans and support our fundraising efforts.
We’re also seeking occasional volunteers to assist with our Supermarket Collection Days—helping us collect donations and raise awareness for Isabel Hospice.
What you’ll be doing:
As a Collection Can Coordinator, you'll:
- Identify local shops and businesses willing to display our collection cans.
- Gain permission from business owners to place the cans.
- Replace the cans when they’re full and ensure the funds are safely collected.
- Provide businesses with a certificate acknowledging how much they've raised.
As a supermarket collection can volunteer, you’ll:
- Help collect donations at a local supermarket for just 2-hour shifts.
- Represent Isabel Hospice and talk to existing and potential supporters.
- Volunteer a couple of times a year – no long-term commitment required.

Am I eligible to apply to volunteer?
We ask that our volunteers are at least 18 years old.
All volunteers are assessed individually for the volunteer roles they are applying for. We strongly believe in equal opportunities and welcome applicants who are representative of our diverse communities.
Your Skills and Abilities:
- Enthusiasm and reliability
- Good organisational skills
- Good local knowledge with the ability to network and identify opportunities for can placement in your area

- Identify yourself as a volunteer while carrying out your duties

All our care is free and can be provided in your home, at our community hubs or our In-Patient Unit. Most of the people we care for have cancer, however, we are also increasingly caring for people with other life limiting conditions.
