Home-Start Hertfordshire are seeking warm and welcoming Volunteer Family Mentors with a “can do” attitude and a sympathetic listening ear to support its 1:1 home visiting service to vulnerable families throughout Hertfordshire.
Families referred to Home-Start face a variety of challenges, and we provide non-judgmental, personalized support through our trained Volunteer Family Mentors. Our goal is to empower families to build the confidence and skills needed to navigate life’s difficulties, helping ensure their children receive the best possible start.
Our Volunteer Family Mentors visit local families weekly, offering 2-3 hours of practical and emotional support to help parents gain confidence and effectively manage their challenges. We offer FREE e-learning training with two in-person sessions to provide you with all the skills and information you need to support families.
