We are looking for group volunteers to assist our group coordinator with supporting refugees/asylum seekers with their wellbeing and practical challenges.Detailed description
Purpose of role:
We provide group sessions for refugees and asylum seekers, enabling individuals to connect with others and explore common issues, concerns and share ideas. The purpose of the groups is to assist the group co-ordinator with running a group that supports refugees and asylum seekers who require support with both their wellbeing and practical challenges.We are looking for volunteers who will support the running of the Flourish Group.
Time commitment:
Thursdays, 10am – 12pm (2 hours a week)
Locations:
Our group is currently running in Novotel Stevenage, Knebworth Park, Stevenage, SG1 2AX
Main tasks:
- Support clients with practical support including filling out forms
- Help to sign post and refer clients to the relevant agencies
- Support the groups coordinator with issuing and accepting referral forms
- Assist the group coordinator with setting up the group
- To take a personal centred approach
