Summary

Baby wearing peer supporter role. Volunteer from 2 sessions (or 6 hours) a month. Working with families exploring babywearing and carrying.

Detailed description

St Albans session runs 9.30am- 12.30pm

Harpenden and Redbourn sessions run 12.30pm to 3.30pm


Transferable training provided in exchange for minimum 1 year commitment.


Several positions available.


Support families - promote bonding, reduce incidence of post-partum depression, make friends and connections to support your professional development, career or career change following maternity leave.


General tasks for volunteers;

Meet and greet families entering the venue.

Actively listen to families seeking support and information about babywearing.

Suggest an appropriate supportive sling or carrier using your training.

Fit the sling or carrier to the wearing dyad whilst imparting safety and comfort advice.

Trouble shoot issues that families are having with carriers or carrying.

Handle personal information, payments and book appointments.

Unpack and pack the sling library and admin folders.

Work within safeguarding and GDPR policies, maintain confidentiality.
