Summary
Help to raise awareness of our services and be a key team member at our local eventsDetailed description
GRIT is a charity supporting young people to improve their mental health through group boxing programmes, workshops and one-to-one coaching.
We’re looking for an events assistant to support us out in the community whether that is hosting a stall at a supermarket to promote our services or an event where we'd be hosting a tombola or raffle.
The type of events we typically attend but aren't limited to are networking sessions, fight nights, craft fairs, local event days (Stevenage Day), walks or cycles, santa's grottos...
Key Responsibilities:
- Researching events and opportunities for us to attend and promote our services / fundraise
- Setting up and hosting a stall
- Cash handling and taking card payments (training will be given)
- Talk about the work we do to support young people and sign post to our referral form where applicable
- Selling merchandise or manning the tombola
- Signposting people where to sign up (for example for a walk)
We're looking for someone who is:
- Friendly, confident and passionate about the charity
- Happy working on their own or as part of a team
- Has a full drivers license to drive to events
- Looking for flexible opportunities but can commit to attending events
What you'll get:
- Become part of a team dedicated to better young people's mental health and wellbeing
- Flexible working
- Experience for your CV or portfolio
- A glowing reference and lots of gratitude!
We would love someone who is able to commit to at least 1 event a month.
About Growing Resilience In Teens (GRIT)
Growing Resilience in Teens (GRIT) supports young people to improve their mental health through group boxing programmes, workshops and one-to-one coaching. Young people come to us from a variety of routes, including health care professionals, education settings and self- referrals – the majority of referrals come to us directly from schools. At the core of our work is the ‘Four Corners’ method, which empowers young people to use adversity as a platform for growth.
