Summary
Corporate and other groups play a big part in maintaining and developing our grounds and gardens by undertaking general gardening or specific maintenance tasks.Detailed description
It's crucial to the work of both Growing People, and the Sadie Centre as a whole, that our horticultural therapy gardens, and extensive grounds surrounding them, are well kept and maintained. Our gardeners (service users) all live with mental health challenges, and it is very important to ensure that their therapeutic gardening sessions happen in an environment which is relaxing and well-maintained.
Corporate and other groups can help us to keep the site up to scratch - not to mention beautiful - by volunteering their time to help with either general maintenance tasks - digging, clearing, weeding, cutting back, planting - or by undertaking specific tasks - maybe renovating our pond, mending the fence or preparing a new area of ground for planting. Groups can join us for full or half-day sessions – we are happy to discuss what would be the most suitable time-frame and activity(ies) for your group.
This is an opportunity for companies looking to fulfil charitable and/or team-working objectives, in a way that will give huge satisfaction to all involved. Your organisation can make a huge difference to Growing People and the people we support, while spending time at a beautiful site, having fun in the outdoors and trying something a bit different. All that in addition to an enjoyable and sociable day's work. (And don't worry - the coffee and biscuits are provided!)
