Detailed description

Garden House and Home is our second-hand furniture, soft furnishings and electrical shop in Letchworth Garden City, selling quality items at affordable prices. We are delighted to be able to offer various volunteer opportunities to support the successful running of this lively town-centre retail outlet. 

 

What you’ll get from joining our team

This is a chance to develop your experience in the retail trade, whilst supporting the growth of this exciting outlet. As a key team member, you’ll contribute to building sales through high quality customer service, gain valuable skills and experience to add to your CV and give back to your local community.   


Opportunities on offer

Our retail volunteers have the opportunity to undertake a wide range of roles including;   

 

  • Displaying donated items for sale, ensuring that they are clean, in good condition and meet our quality standards
  • Ensuring the shop is clean, organised and safe for customers and volunteers
  • Greeting customers and provide a friendly shopping experience
  • Assisting customers with their purchases
  • Operating the till
  • Answering questions and providing information about Garden House Hospice Care
  • Assisting with other tasks as required

 

We offer flexible shifts across the week of two hours upwards and would love to discuss how we can work together.

 

 

Support you will receive

We are committed to supporting your development as a successful member of our team. Support includes:

 

·               induction, training and regular reviews to ensure you are confident in your role

·               the opportunity to attend diverse hospice-based or online courses such as meditation

About Garden House Hospice Care

We are a local charity providing free, compassionate end of life care and support to patients and their families. Our services are available to people living in the communities of North Hertfordshire, Stevenage and surrounding towns and villages in Central Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire. We offer a supportive volunteering environment and would love you to join our team.
