Summary

Downside Pre-School CIO is looking for new trustees to join our friendly team. Trustees help make important decisions to keep our pre-school running smoothly.

Detailed description

We need your help!

Are you passionate about supporting young children in their early education? Joining the Downside Pre-School Committee as a trustee is a rewarding way to make a meaningful difference while gaining valuable skills.

This position is perfect for anyone who wants to contribute their time and expertise to benefit the community. You don’t need to be a parent with a child at the preschool—anyone with a passion for early years education and a desire to make a positive impact is welcome to apply.

Our pre-school thrives on the collaborative efforts of parents, staff, and trustees, working together to create the best environment for our children to learn and grow. We welcome trustees from all backgrounds—your unique skills and experiences will add to our diverse and friendly team.

Why Volunteer as a Trustee?

  • Be Involved: Make a direct impact on the lives of children in your community.
  • Learn and Grow: Update existing skills, gain new ones, and boost your CV for future opportunities.
  • Support the Community: Help shape the future of Downside Pre-School CIO and contribute to local families.

What Does a Trustee Do?

As a trustee, you’ll help with:

  • Supporting the Pre-School staff with the smooth running of the charity.
  • Support the Pre-School to achieve its goals.
  • Organising fundraising activities to provide new resources for the children.
  • Promoting the pre-school to the wider community.

Don’t worry if this sounds challenging! Our experienced staff handle the daily operations, and trustees work together to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Key Information for Trustees

  • Commitment: Trustees are elected annually and meet each half term, a date which is determined by the trustees.
  • Requirements: You’ll need an enhanced DBS check.
  • Volunteer Role: This is an unpaid position, but the personal rewards are invaluable.
  • Who Can Apply: You don’t need to be a parent with a child at the preschool—anyone committed to supporting early education is encouraged to get involved.
  • Support: Comprehensive guidance and a warm welcome from our team to help you settle into the role.
