Summary
The Core team volunteers plan, manage and drive forwards the Hub’s mission of increasing donor numbers on the global stem cell donor register.to save lives.Detailed description
The core team of volunteers determines the Hub’s programme of activities, manages the administration of the hub and it’s activities and develops networks of support within local communities across Herts and Essex,
The hub was started in Bishop’s Stortford, on the Herts/Essex border and its core team are from that immediate area. For the Hub to be most successful across two such large counties, it needs to expand the its core team base, geographically.
In an ideal world we would have representation in/for each of the local council districts to support that growth.
What we will provide to volunteers
💸 Reimbursement of costs🤝 Extra supportAbout DKMS Volunteer Hub - Herts and Essex
We are a group of volunteers passionate about increasing the odds of survival for those with a Blood Cancer or Blood Disorder and in need of a stem cell transplant. Currently, only 7% of the eligible population in the UK is registered as a potential donor. We want to help change that supporting DKMS UK in their mission to find as many potential stem cell donors and lifesaving matches as possible. We do that across Hertfordshire and Essex by raising awareness, recruiting stem cell donors and fundraising to cover the costs of registration.
