Purpose of the Role:
As a Fundraising Assistant, you will support Citizens Advice North Herts in raising vital funds to continue our work providing free, confidential, and impartial advice to the local community. You will assist in various fundraising activities and campaigns, helping to maximise donations and increase our visibility in the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and organising fundraising events and campaigns, including efforts to increase membership for the North Herts Community Lottery. Take the lead in promoting and encouraging sign-ups for EasyFundraising to support Citizens Advice North Herts. Contribute to organising our annual general knowledge and music quizzes, and develop and implement strategies to encourage regular donations.
- Assist in creating promotional materials, such as flyers, social media posts, and email newsletters.
- Assist in maintaining and updating a database of donors and sponsors.
- Help identify and reach out to local businesses and organisations for potential partnerships and sponsorships.
- Assist in writing thank you letters, newsletters, and other communications to donors and supporters.
- Help maintain positive relationships with existing donors and supporters.
- Support the development of initiatives to engage and retain donors.
- Assist with record-keeping and managing donations.
- Help with the preparation of reports and presentations for internal and external use.
- Provide general administrative support as needed.
Skills and Experience:
- Essential:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (365, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Enthusiastic, proactive, and willing to learn.
- Desirable:
- Experience in fundraising, marketing, or a related field.
- Knowledge of the local community in North Herts.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing.
