Are you a good listener? Do you enjoy making someone's day?Can you spare an hour a week to change an older person's life by telephoning them?
Detailed description
Our telephone Befrienders phone older people on a regular basis to offer a friendly chat and a listening ear.
You will be matched with an older person, providing friendship and sharing news, views and interests on the phone.
You should be able to deal with clients in a non-judgemental and respectful way, whilst maintaining their confidentiality.
This is a rewarding way to build a lovely relationship with somebody who is lonely from the comfort of your own home.
All volunteers must be over the age of 18 and are recruited subject to references and a clear enhanced DBS.
