St Albans Peer Support Group Volunteer

Headway Hertfordshire support people with who have had a brain injury. We are looking for individuals who would be willing to volunteer for 2 hours weekly or fortnightly on a Monday morning at the Cottonmill Community and Cycling Centre.

The St Albans group enjoy being active and sociable, the group engage in a range of activities including seated yoga, music, table top sports, quizzes and occasional day trips..

We are looking for that special person who can support our clients to undertake a range of activities. You will feel at ease meeting and talking with people and helping others to participate in a social setting, or you may have an interest in helping with arts and crafts, or have a skill that you would like to share. Above all you should be reliable, a good listener and communicator, able to make your own way to meeting places and have a positive and can-do approach to enabling activities for all.

You do not need to have any previous experience or knowledge of brain injury as we support volunteers through an induction programme and there will be training sessions available in a range of both mandatory topics and those of special interest to you. We have regular volunteer meetings where you can meet others who volunteer for this small but busy charity.

Any incurred expenses will be paid.
