Detailed description

ROLE of our Volunteers

 

To contribute to the overall success of Resolve’s Projects, Services and objectives and to maintain effective service delivery by:

  • Working as part of Resolve Staff Team in any of our Services or Projects
  • Assisting with and delivering services directly to our beneficiaries
  • Contributing to the team with ideas and individuality within the framework as specified below
  • Adhering to all the policies and procedures as laid down by Resolve

 

Personal Skills and Experience

The following is a list of aspirational experience, technical/professional skills, expertise and/or desirable qualifications. The most important skill to have however is the desire to help others to help themselves.

We would like Volunteers to have;

  • experience in drug and/or alcohol work
  • experience in drug and/or alcohol work
  • experience in drug and/or alcohol work
  • a lived experience in or other life skills and/or experience transferable to the role
  • a client centred approach to the role undertaken
  • an understanding of the aims and objectives and Mission of Resolve

 

Key Activities

To work towards the professional standards laid down by various professional bodies and Codes of Practice for health care professionals, service providers and for our service users and to promote service delivery through:

·   Greeting and welcome visitors/clients to the service as necessary.

·  Assisting with and supporting all aspects of the work of the project, as required.

·   Being part of the dedicated Volunteer/Key Work Team

·   Providing help and information to clients and staff as required.  

· Assisting service users in accessing employment, training, education and housing opportunities.

· Working effectively and flexibly as part of the team, assisting others and sharing knowledge openly and willingly.

· Participating in review processes as required both procedural and personal (Personal Development Review).

· Performing such duties as may be reasonably required by managers within the scope of the above.

About Resolve

Resolve's purpose is to meet the needs of local people who need substance misuse treatment, are homeless or are experiencing poverty. We help people move to manageable, positive lifestyles, where they can contribute and enhance their local community.

We run three main services:
- Resolve Drug and Alcohol Treatment Services providing services for people who want to reach abstinence.
- Restart homeless and rough sleeper project.
- Sparks Community Café and Hub community café, food pantry and Sparkles baby boutique.
