We're looking for education outreach volunteers to encourage the next generation to take action in preserving our environment and being heroes for wildlife!

Detailed description

Pumpkins Wildlife Hospital is searching for enthusiastic individuals to serve as Education Outreach Volunteers, inspiring young people and adults to become champions for wildlife. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to engage with schools, clubs, and organisations, delivering impactful talks that encourage the next generation to take action in preserving our environment and being heroes for wildlife!


Responsibilities:


1. Conduct engaging and informative presentations at schools, clubs, and

youth organisations, highlighting the importance of Pumpkin’s Wildlife Hospital and how they can help.


2. Tailor presentations to various age groups, ensuring content is both

educational and inspiring, motivating people to take action!


3. Foster a sense of environmental stewardship by providing actionable steps and projects that empower young individuals to make a positive impact in their communities.


4. Collaborate with the Outreach Lead to develop educational materials, visual aids, and interactive activities that enhance the learning experience during presentations.


5. Attend other outreach events including litter picking events and other

engagement sessions.


Requirements:


1. Passion for wildlife, with a specific interest in engaging and inspiring young people to become advocates for the environment.


2. We’re ideally looking for teachers, educators or those with experience of presenting or public speaking.


3. Excellent public speaking and communication skills, capable of connecting with diverse audiences and ages.


4. Ability to adapt presentations to different age groups and maintain a lively, engaging atmosphere during talks.


5. Flexibility to accommodate school schedules and attend events during both weekdays, evenings and occasional weekends. (Please note you don’t need to be available for all these shifts we can work around your availability).


6. A commitment to fostering a love for wildlife and the environment among the youth, cultivating a new generation of wildlife heroes.


7. Access to own car and happy to travel to different locations to deliver

sessions.


Full training will be provided with chance to shadow sessions. We work as a team to deliver the sessions and there will always be a minimum of team members present.
