Summary
Ideal opportunity for experienced beekeepers who no longer wish to maintain their own hives. Why not help to manage ours instead! Beautiful location.Detailed description
We need to maintain our 20 hives to ensure supplies of honey to sell at the Farmers Market, to support our educational activities. Hives are also used for hands-on training: general sessions for anyone, introductions for people considering taking up beekeeping and some mentoring for both novices and more experienced beekeepers.
Help also appreciated for the many related tasks eg physical maintenance of the hives themselves, cleaning frames an boxes; uncapping and spinning the honey (mainly September), melting (all year round), washing recycled jars, jarring and labelling.
So there are many different ways to contribute, depending on your time available and level of skill.
